i've been looking for this recipe for some time and never even thought to look here. my girlfriend needs something easy to feed our pup when i'm at work other than ground beef. the chicken and turkey still weird her out a little, but she's coming around.

Just a side note... echinacea gave Jack really bad diarrhea when we tried to use it when he got kennel cough from one of our fosters. I don't know if that's a common problem or not, but if you notice a problem, try them without the echinacea.

Sorry if I confused someone. I wasn't giving Jack satin balls - just echinaeca to help his immune system with the kennel cough. I was just mentioning it since I saw it was an ingredient in the satin balls recipe.

I have a recipe for Satin Balls on my blog that is almost the same, but with a little variation.

The Total cereal is what bothers me quite a lot (it is sugar laden and can cause GI issues in sick dogs, who Satin Balls are intended for) and many many dogs are allergic to wheat germ, which is why I omit those 2 ingredients.

dana, i dunno if you saw my thread about poor rowdy being sick with "poop pudding".... but none the less, he is sick and no matter what he eats, it comes out wrong. do you think satin balls may help? i noticed you said they were for "sick" dogs...... but i dunno what kind of "sick" you mean. i've never heard of satin balls

They are for very fast weight gain and enticing sick dogs to eat that are starving. PM me with the link to your thread, or with what's going on with Rowdy and we'll see if we can't fix it. |
