Mmkay porchie peeps...

We have a cute little guy in at the shelter and I'm seeking opinions on what breeds you guys think he is. He looks pittie mix... but that is not getting him adopted and his time is getting short... so in addition to the pittie what else do you see??? Or don't you see pit?
Am I nutso (hey don't answer that) or maybe a dash of boston terrier in there??? I dunno! lol HELP! And send Buddy adoptive VIBES!~~~~~~

Call him a basenji mix. He'll be adopted in no time.

If being called a "pit mix" is keeping him from getting a home, maybe "terrier mix" is the way to go. I might see a little pit bull in him, but to be honest he probably has a lot of breeds going on - JRT, Chi, Boston, Beagle... very hard to say. One can't turn around in our local shelter without falling over a pit mix or a Chihuahua/Chi mix... very sad.

He's very leggy! I would go with terrier mix, as well. I don't like with shelter dogs are listed as breeds/mixes they obviously aren't, but he does seem to have terrier in there some where, so I'd say it's a safer listing.

I would put him as a Basenji mix! I don't see pit in him really. Not to say there isn't but it wasn't my first thought. His body isn't really a pit build either or his coat. What a FACE!! He's a doll.

He has a cattle dog/heeler look about him.

Kelly, that's JUST what I was thinking too, perhaps Heeler or ACD in there somewhere.

Tell them he is a smooth collie/heeler mix. Those look plausible(sp) to me.

He definitely doesn't look Pittie to me and I have 2 pitties.

My first thought was Basenji or Heeler also.

He has a pittie shaped face/head, but he is not obviously pit. I agree with the others - ACD/heeler mix.

Well, the good news is a wonderful Humane Society in southern WI has offered to take Buddy and two other dogs at the shelter (a Beagle and a beagle/terrier mix)!!!!!!! Woohoooooo! But not until the end of next week... so, fingers crossed all goes well and we have space to keep everybody till next Friday. (I can bring one of the Beagles home for a few days to make room at the shelter if needed but then they might have to pry him out of my cold dead hands!... heheh)

Oh that's wonderful news, Maryjane! I wouldn't have automatically thought pit mix looking at him either. Heeler mix was my first thought too.
