I think that dog in pics looks older than 6 months but I'm no expert.

My aunt and uncle had a rescue basset x labrador that looked just like that. He was an awesome little fella! So sad that someone intentionally is creating them though

Quite common in NC. When we rescued Sammy from the pound, there was a whole slew of them

Now that I think about it, there is one here that lives near us somewhere. He's red and white - kinda cute actually.

We see dogs like this all the time at the shelter. Just a weird mix of breeding. They usually have tons of spunk though.

I worked with a girl years ago that had one but it wasn't a planned thing. Her parents actually believed there was NO WAY their male Bassett could manage to mate with their big female black Lab. Apparently he could! They learned their lesson and got both dog fixed. My friend took one male puppy and apparently the others did find good homes. Pretty darn funny looking dog but cute as anything.

they're cute as hell, but I am really sick of seeing those "designer breeds" ... as if the shelters needed more mutts...

I have a friend that adopted a dog that looked like that from the pound. He's cute but I can't imagine what possessed people to combine those breeds. They tell people he's a mutt pound puppy.

Well, we just had a pit bull/bassett staying at our clinic. She was a doll! She looked like a very short-legged pittie. Hilarious!

SharPei x Bassets...poor ooglie things...

My neighbor had a Lab x Basset mix and it was quite handsome. He looked very Lab but you could see the basset in his face and ears.

The link doesn't work anymore.

When we were looking for a dog, I had my heart set on a lab/corgi mix that was 5 hours away - she was an absolutely adorable little shorty lab.

Then Obi showed up at our local pound, and the rest is history
