Yeah, I'm Crazy. NEED 7-DAY FOSTER FOR MOM & 8 PUPS - BALTIMORE

PA Stray Save has agreed to take in a sweet and friendly pit mix mom and her 8 6-week old puppies (photos attached). The problem? We can't get them here until next Saturday, 8/7! BARCS is FULL and needs these guys out ASAP. We are happy to help, but absolutely NEED a 7-day foster home. If you can help, PLEASE contact me at shannon@straysave.com with a veterinary and/or rescue reference and a personal reference. Thank you! As always, crossposting is appreciated!!!! Wish I was close enough to help you! I'd do it in a second! Any chance of boarding them at a vet's office if you can't find a foster?

If I could find it affordably. I simply can't afford $20-$30/day and the Baltimore area, sadly, is very expensive.

OM*G

$30 a day is sounding like paradise. I've called 3 kennels. Ranging from $90-$288 PER DAY. Even though we would only need ONE RUN, they are charging the regular daily rate (with a discount to reflect the above OMG) for 9 dogs.

I'm still in shock. Up here, with a rescue discount, an adult dog is about $12 per day. A litter with mom that could all go in the same run would top out at $25 with the 3 kennels I've used.

Another option...
If there is someone that could get these pups from York, PA - Hazleton on Wednesday, I have a volunteer who could get them to York. Might be able to get the shelter to hold until then...please let me know!

HaHaHa! I've retired myself from Pitties. Much as I love them, I don't have the energy for them anymore. Next foster/adoption is going to be another Berner.

Got it figured out! Diana is picking them up and driving them to a temp foster up in my area. I had an issue because the stupid water company told me they are going to shut off my water if I don't let them come in and change my meter, which is precisely behind the only damn place I can set up the monstrosity of a puppy crate that I have (literally like 5 feet wide and weighs like 50 lbs), and THEY are coming "sometime" this week. So, they leave the shelter tomorrow and are safe My foster who is taking the 2 retriever/???? pups next weekend is going to take 2-3 of these too, since she DID tell me she wanted a litter "up to 5" (I kinda reminded her of that when I texted her to ask ). They will be kept separate from the other 2, of course. And my foster who was going to take Pickles might take 2 - I got 2 great apps on him today, which will leave me with mom and 2-3 pups.

So, things SEEM to be working out. FYI the pups were also tested for parvo and were NEGATIVE. So cross paws everything continues to go as planned!
