Exclamation BEGGING - Need Temp Foster

This girl is in the Philly SPCA. She was taken in a raid in May 2009 and has been at the shelter ever since. The "owner's" court case was finally completed (outcome, I don't know) and he signed over the dogs on Tuesday. Today at 3 pm, one of the volunteers who has been working with all 25 since the day they came in, was told that she would be euthanized TONIGHT. She sent out an email, to which I replied. We spoke on the phone. Apparently she spoke to the vet tech this evening who said she would make sure she was too busy to euth her tonight. Tomorrow morning we will know for sure.

She is 4 years old. NO cats, selectively dog reactive but has not aggressively attacked any other dogs. Reportedly LOVES people - just like a pitty should. Her first photo had me in tears. I just keep thinking about Jasmine.

I KNOW this dog is NOT Jasmine. She might not like kids. But if she DOES, and we CAN, I would adopt this dog myself. If not, we adopt her out. But we are simply too overwhelmed with dogs at the moment to physically bring her here. I probably won't have space for at least a month or two. I'm willing to provide all vetting (of course), supplies, and even a small amount of money to anyone who would hold her until then. As of 10 minutes ago, NO ONE has spoken up for her. If she is still there in the morning, I pray there is a reason. Even if it's not me who saves her, I hope someone does. A year in the shelter with no hope of getting out, finally able to be released, and already on the euth list? No...that does not sit well with me.

Crossposting, prayers, and ideas are greatly appreciated. I can be reached at shannon@straysave.com

Thanks everyone. Now look at sweet Lydia...

I hate these long drawn out court cases where dogs are housed at shelter until they finally get around to forcing the owner to sign off. I hope this beautiful lady get a wonderful home. She certainly deserves it after her long stay in jail, through no fault of her own.

Someone is coming to meet Lydia early this afternoon with their male dog. If things goes well, they will be adopting her. If not, the PSPCA called me and sent me their Rescue Partner paperwork which I just submitted. Still seeking temp foster. I simply have nowhere to pop another crate and can't put another dog on hubby while I work all week

Other dog of the potential adopter (unneutered, only 3 weeks in his home, and previously used for FIGHTING) did not like Lydia. Well...duh...

Last update I have is she has til 6:30 TONIGHT. Left a message for my contact at the shelter begging for some more time. No offers of foster yet

She was picked up by a foster just a bit ago. Don't know if they are fostering for the SPCA at this point, another rescue, or are placing her themselves. I've asked these questions and am awaiting a response. I've offered my contact info if they need help. PHEW!!!
