I was browsing through the dogs on petfinder from the neighboring counties HS and this was in the name line and it caught my eye (not for good reasons)...

Summit is a kind little guy with a trusting heart. He will warm your heart in an instant! Summit doesn't mind other cats or dogs and is definately a people person! He's quiet, calm and has even had obediance training. Summit would make a fantastic addition to your family! Summit is a pure bred "Puggle". He has his papers also.

WHAT?!?!?! As a volunteer in the shelter world I can't fathom how they heck can they be so stupid to write such things. I can't even tolerate the mixing of names, it's a gosh darn pug beagle MIX not a puggle! It isn't "pure bred" and it's papers are worthless!

I can unfortunately expect this from the general public but from people who "work" in animal rescue.... And this is not to say I don't wish the little guy a happy home but at how they "advertise" him.

I would imagine that this was written by a volunteer who is less than knowledgeable about dog breeds. Perhaps it was purposeful to help this dog get a forever home (as people who don't know breeds can provide good loving homes). Not always bad, just embarassing.
