I know the chances are small of me convincing any more members here to join the Ibizan cult, but figure it couldn't hurt any to post this here in case some of you know someone who would be ideal.


My dog friends, I know personally of several Ibizan Hounds in need of EXCELLENT homes. They are NOT rescue situations.
They are re-home situations for valid reasons.

Three are due to the owner's physical condition making it impossible to properly exercise and give attention to the dogs as they need, two are due to the owner's husband being in the hospital 24/7 and her attending to his needs and can't care for the dogs as necessary, and two are due to the breeder taking them back responsibly from owners who no longer wanted the dogs but now they deserve to find a home of their own.

Again, they are all happy, healthy, and safe where they are but a loving home of their own is what they need most.

Available-

Male- 2 year old show quality male Jason; red smooth; good with dogs, kids, people; lure coursing candidate

Male- 6 month old show quality male Rodeo; wild irish red smooth; good with dogs, kids; lure coursing candidate definitely!

Female- 6 year old pet girl Rhapsody; red tight wire; good with kids and other dogs; just wants to be someone's companion

Female- 8 year old pet girl Dancer; pinto smooth; good with kids, dogs, people; just wants to be someone's companion

Female- 10 year old pet girl Smooch; pinto smooth; good with kids, dogs, people; just wants to be someone's companion

Male- 4 year old pet boy; white smooth boy; needs a home with extremely secure fencing, NO male dogs, and patient owner to socialize him

Male- 4 year old pet boy; mostly white pinto smooth boy; needs a home with NO male dogs, and patient owner to socialize him

Some info on Ibizan Hounds- they are a very athletic, happy, playful, gentle breed that love their people. They are sighthounds and should not be allowed off leash ever as they will give chase to prey and run away. They have the ability to jump great heights; a securely fenced yard is a necessity with them. In the home, they are comical companions. Outside, they love to run and jump and play with you or canine companions. This breed is typically healthy and long-lived. Please do your own research on them as well! This breed is not for everyone!

The 8 and 10 year old females could use somewhere even temporarily to go, like long-term fostering. Their owner is having a dog-sitter come in daily to care for them while she's at her husband's side in the hospital. Same goes for the 6 year old girl Rhapsody, just even long-term fostering would be ok as her owner is working on a broken leg right now, trying to care for the dogs.

Shannon, you are welcome to. The only ones that I am EXTREMELY sensitive about posting are the 4 year old males with special needs, as their breeder has not advertised them widely to the public because they need a very very special owner. I have someone interested and asking me about one of them, but I'm sure going to give her the third degree questioning before I even let her have the breeder's contact info for this boy. Both 4 year old males have been through a lot and whoever takes one of them needs to be sensitive to that, and in it for the long haul. Since I didn't put the boys' names, location, or breeder though, I think it will be ok to post that general info about them.

I think the vague description should be fine. You told me about those boys and what kind of home they need and I agree that they require somebody very special.

I shared on a small sighthound forum and a small greyhound forum. The big greyhound forum rarely allows threads about other breeds looking for homes.
