Appenzellers are even MORE rare in the US and Canada. To be honest, I know of a group in Canada that crosses Berners with Labs for service dogs... and every single one of those is black/white - I've yet to see a tricolored dog pop out of that. AND every one of them has had medium-long hair. That's not to say that their couldn't be a short hair... but... The dog depicted most closely resembles a poorly bred Swissy bitch to me. She's too tall and the head/tail isn't right for Entlebucher. She *could* be a freaked out Appenzeller - maybe - but the tail is all wrong unless she's got it tucked between her legs. My best guess is poorly bred Swissy. |
