Worried about Titus cos very wobbly

Worried about DM:
http://www.caninegeneticdiseases.net/DM/basicDM.htm
as Titus is starting to be really wobbly,on his back legs.
I know his lineage had 2 cases of it although it wasn't tested, for it.One of them was Titus'half-sister,Prissy(same father and her Mom was his gran-mom) who was let go,at 11 yrs old cos she couldn't get up,anymore and had no quality of life.
I,truly, hope I'm wrong and it's just a lot of muscles due to inactivity during 6 weeks when he broke his leg but my hunch says otherwise.
Any support and advice welcome.L

OFA has a test for it now that could tell you at the very least if he has the genetic markers for it....Antigene in France I believe also has one.

Sending vibes for Titus. Unfortunately as you know already, DM is something that shows up later in life (which is why it goes undetected in many Berners, they die of other causes before the DM has a chance to show up) - the best you can do in the case that it IS DM is help him, support him with a sling or help steady him, and eventually.... there are wheels for dogs with DM. I know of 4 Berners that rocked their wheels for YEARS and one of them is STILL rolling around happy as a clam.

Luna was pretty wobbly on her back leg during her rehab. It's been only recently that she's started getting more steady and stronger looking. Hopefully that's all it is with Titus!

I know that Sammie Su, after surgery, wasn't totally confident on her back legs for almost a year. So hoping that that's all it is for Titus.

Same with Spencer. It took some time to get back the muscle mass and he worried me quite a bit. I hope that's all it is for Titus as well.

You can try some range of motion exercises when you on floor cuddling with him & massaging him can help with his muscle mass also. If you have a pool, just wadding in the water is great for improving range of motion and muscle mass.
Hope this helps a bit. Good luck to you and your baby.

Since the kids are on holiday,I've asked 16,to walk them,as well. So,we've doubled the walks. Both love it and it seems to be helping.
I,also, started giving him,1/2 a rimadyl,in the moning and he seems to be more comfortable.

His wobbling is worsening and I,now, know his time is counted.
I hope he will be able to reach 11 yrs old.
Seeing him like this, make me feel like screaming & crying but can't cos of the kids.
So unfair when he still behaving like a pup.
